Disable Auto Confirm MTO adds a manual approval checkpoint to Odoo's Make-to-Order flow, so manufacturing orders are created in Draft and wait for review before components are reserved and capacity is committed.
The problem
Odoo auto-confirms manufacturing orders the instant a Make-to-Order sales order is confirmed. Components are reserved and shop floor capacity is committed immediately, with no human review. A wrong quantity or a component shortage is not caught until materials and machine time are already spoken for, leaving supervisors to cancel and rework orders after the fact.
The solution
This module inserts a deliberate approval checkpoint between sale confirmation and manufacturing execution. MTO-generated manufacturing orders are created and held in Draft, and the responsible reviewer is notified. The supervisor checks components and capacity, then presses Confirm to release the order to the shop floor — nothing else about the sale-to-manufacture workflow changes.

Manufacturing orders generated by Make-to-Order sales are created in Draft instead of confirming automatically, giving a supervisor room to review before materials and capacity commit.

The manufacturing order form shows a clear on-screen notice when an order is waiting on a supervisor, so nothing gets missed on a busy production list.
Manual Confirm Always Works
Reviewing a draft order is a single click: press Confirm to release it to the shop floor exactly as Odoo normally would.
Multi-Company Aware
Approval settings and product rules are stored per company, so multi-company manufacturers can configure each entity independently.
How it works
Sales order confirmed
The customer order for a Make-to-Order product is confirmed as usual, with no change to the sales process.
Manufacturing order created in draft
Instead of auto-confirming, Odoo creates the MTO manufacturing order and leaves it in Draft.

A To-Do activity alerts the responsible reviewer that an order is waiting for approval.
