The problem
The same physical product often arrives from different suppliers wearing a different barcode on every box. Odoo's default single-barcode-per-product model cannot recognize any code beyond the one it was set up with, so warehouse pickers and cashiers hit dead ends, fall back on manual lookups, and generate costly mis-picks, returns, and rework.
The solution

Unlimited vendor barcodes per product
Attach as many vendor or manufacturer barcodes as you need to a product, at the template level or to a specific variant, so every code a supplier prints resolves to the right item.
Instant no-reload POS scanning
A barcode added to the backend is scannable at the point of sale immediately. The POS falls back to a live server lookup for any code it does not yet recognize locally, so cashiers never wait on a page reload.
Backend resolution everywhere
The same barcode set resolves in Sales order lines and Inventory receiving screens, not just POS, because every extra barcode plugs into product lookup wherever the product is searched.
Vendor-aware differentiation
Every additional barcode records which vendor it came from, so staff can trace a scan back to its supplier and group the barcode list by vendor for reconciliation and audits.
Bulk import from vendor files
Paste a vendor's full barcode list, optionally as barcode,vendor CSV lines, or upload a text file, and import the whole set in a single action instead of typing barcodes one at a time.
Duplicate and conflict detection
Assigning a barcode that already belongs to a different product raises an immediate, clear warning, so operators catch collisions before they cause a scanning error on the floor.
Resilient bulk import
A conflicting or duplicate line in a bulk import is skipped and reported in a summary rather than treated as fatal, so one bad line never blocks the rest of a vendor's onboarding.
Dedicated Additional Barcodes workspace
A dedicated list and form, reachable from both the Inventory and Point of Sale menus, lets managers review, filter, and group every extra barcode across the catalog.
Multi-company aware
Barcode records respect company boundaries, so a barcode created for one company never leaks into another company's product lookups in multi-company environments.
How it works
Add a vendor barcode
Open a product, go to the Additional Barcodes page, and add the barcode a vendor prints on their packaging, or use Import Barcodes to bring in a whole list at once.
Assign the vendor
Tag each barcode with the vendor or manufacturer it belongs to, so every scan can be traced back to its source for reconciliation.
Scan anywhere
The barcode resolves to the same product the moment it is scanned in Sales, Inventory receiving, or the Point of Sale, no matter which vendor's packaging it came from.
Stay conflict-free
If a barcode is already assigned elsewhere, Combo Multi Barcode blocks the duplicate immediately, keeping every scan pointed at exactly one product.
