The problem
Standard Odoo lists category names with no indication of how many products sit behind each one. Shoppers click into categories that turn out to be empty or nearly empty, get frustrated, and abandon the session — while store operators lose the chance to steer buyers toward well-stocked categories.
The solution
Category Wise Product Count on Website adds a live badge beside every category name across the sidebar navigation, shop filters, and search suggestions — one consistent, real-time count everywhere a shopper sees a category, configurable per website from Settings.

Category sidebar badges
A live product-count badge appears beside every category name in the shop sidebar and top navigation list, covering the collapsible variant too.
Zero-product indicator
Categories with no published products get a distinct muted badge instead of a plain zero, so shoppers are never routed to a dead end.
Rollup or direct counts
Choose whether a parent category's count rolls up every product in its descendant subcategories, or shows only products assigned directly to it.
Search autocomplete counts
Category results in the shop's search autocomplete append the live count to the category name, so shoppers can judge relevance the moment they search.
Per-website configuration
Every toggle lives on the website record, so a multi-site Odoo instance can enable different placements and rollup behavior independently per website.
Per-location toggles
Turn counts on or off for the sidebar and search suggestions independently from Settings, instead of being locked to a single placement.
Context-aware accuracy
Counts reflect only products that are published, active, and saleable to the current visitor on the current website — never a raw catalog total.
Large-catalog friendly
Counts are computed only for the categories actually rendered on the page, so performance stays predictable even on stores with hundreds of categories.
Large-count formatting
Counts above 999 render as 999+ so the badge never breaks the category layout, even on very large catalogs.

Install the module
Add Category Wise Product Count on Website to your Odoo 19 database — it works directly with the standard Website and eCommerce apps.
Enable counts in Settings
Open Website Settings and switch on Category Product Count with a single toggle; an example badge shows exactly what shoppers will see.
Choose rollup and placements
Decide whether counts roll up subcategories and which surfaces — sidebar or search — should display them, per website.
