The problem
Most shoppers want to choose exactly when their order arrives, yet standard Odoo eCommerce offers no native way to do this. Merchants who cannot offer slot selection face abandoned carts, failed first-attempt deliveries, and fulfillment days overloaded because too many orders land in the same window. Existing marketplace apps only make it worse: bare-bones pickers let customers select slots that are already full, while heavy logistics tools never surface a clean picker to the shopper at all.
The solution
Delivery Date Picker & Time Slots adds a polished, capacity-aware checkout picker filtered by shipping method, with live remaining-spot badges and grayed-out full or past slots so nobody can pick a window that is already taken. Behind it, operations get per-carrier weekly schedules, cut-off and lead-time rules, holiday blocking, a planning dashboard, and automatic email and SMS reminders — the shopper experience and the operational controls, in one product.
Everything a delivery slot needs

Checkout date & time-slot picker
Shoppers choose a delivery date and exact time window (e.g. 2–4pm) right on the checkout payment page, filtered to slots valid for the chosen shipping method.
Live capacity & overbooking prevention
Each slot enforces a maximum number of orders. Remaining-spot badges show “N left” or “Filling up”, and full or past slots are grayed out and unselectable before the customer ever clicks.
Cut-off time & advance-notice rules
Configure a same-day order-by cut-off, a minimum advance-notice lead time, and a preparation buffer in days, so nothing is ever promised faster than your team can fulfill it.
Weekly schedules & slot templates
Build a full weekly service schedule fast from reusable slot templates, enable or disable individual weekdays per carrier, and set a default capacity per window.
Holiday & day-off blocking
Block non-delivery dates individually or as a bulk date range, per carrier or across the whole business, so blocked days never appear as selectable at checkout.
Backend planning dashboard
A dedicated Delivery Slots menu lists every committed delivery with its date, window, carrier and status, so operations can see and plan upcoming deliveries at a glance.
Delivery instructions on the order
A free-text delivery-instructions field — gate codes, drop-off preferences and more — is captured at checkout and saved straight to the sale order for the fulfillment team.
Self-service portal reschedule
Customers can change their own delivery date and window from the order detail page in the customer portal, with the same capacity, cut-off and advance-notice rules enforced automatically.
Email & SMS delivery reminders
Automatic email reminders go out ahead of the delivery date, with an optional SMS reminder and a reschedule notification whenever a committed date or window changes.

Yes. Every slot has a capacity, and availability is re-checked server-side on selection, so a slot that fills up while a customer is browsing cannot be booked twice.
