Shoppers scroll a flat catalog, guess at keyword searches, and gamble on whether a brake pad or air filter actually fits their car — and the wrong guess means a return, a refund, and a frustrated customer.
The solution
Auto Parts Website Quick Search adds a guided Make → Model → Year → Engine selector to the storefront. Once a shopper picks their vehicle, the shop, search, product pages, and cart all filter and flag fitment automatically — so every part shown is confirmed to fit, and mismatches are caught before checkout.

Progressive vehicle selector
A dependent Make → Model → Year → Engine selector on the shop page, loaded live so each choice narrows the next and shoppers can’t create impossible combinations.
Fitment-filtered shop & search
Once a vehicle is selected, the shop listing and search results show only parts confirmed to fit — no manual filtering required.
Persistent “shopping for” vehicle
The chosen vehicle stays active in the shopper’s session across categories, search, and product pages, with a visible banner and one-click change/clear.
Product tile fitment badge
A “Fits your vehicle” badge appears directly on product tiles in the shop grid, reassuring shoppers before they click through.
Product page fitment indicator
Each product page shows an explicit “Fits your vehicle” or “does not fit” notice for the selected vehicle, preventing wrong-fit purchases.
Cart line fitment badges
Every cart line repeats the fitment check, giving shoppers one more confirmation, or warning, before completing checkout.
Helpful empty state
When a selected vehicle matches zero parts, shoppers see a clear message with one-click options to change the vehicle or browse the full catalog.
Backend vehicle & fitment management
Store managers maintain Makes, Models, and Vehicles (year/engine) from dedicated backend menus, and link each vehicle to its compatible parts.
Product “Fitment” tab
Every product form gains a Fitment tab listing Compatible Vehicles as tags, so managers can assign fitment right from the product they’re already editing.
How it works
Set up your vehicle catalog
Add Makes, Models, and Vehicles (year & engine) from the Auto Parts Fitment menu in the backend.
Link parts to vehicles
On each product’s Fitment tab, tag every vehicle the part is compatible with.
Shopper selects their vehicle
On the shop page, the shopper picks Make, Model, Year, and Engine through the guided selector.
Shop, cart, and checkout show fitment
The catalog filters to compatible parts, and fitment badges follow the shopper through the product page and cart.
