Address autofill your team can actually trust

Google Places or Mapbox autocomplete for Contacts and the Customer Portal, backed by setup diagnostics that never fail silently, per-country validation, confidence scoring, duplicate detection, and a full change history.

The problem

Manual address entry is slow and error-prone, and a misconfigured API key in most autofill apps fails silently — leaving staff guessing whether the feature even works while misspelled cities, invalid postal codes, and duplicate partner records pile up in the database.

The solution

Address Autofill pairs real-time Google Places or Mapbox suggestions on Contacts and the Customer Portal with a Setup Diagnostics wizard that proves the connection works, per-country postal-code validation, a visible confidence score, one-click duplicate detection, and a complete address-change history.

Capabilities

Everything an address field should do

Every capability below is implemented in the module.

01

Type-ahead autocomplete on Contacts

Start typing a street address and pick a suggestion — street, street 2, city, state, postal code, and country fill in automatically, with a discoverable hint right on the field.

02

Customer Portal autofill

Customers updating their address on the My Account page get the same type-ahead suggestions, so your database stays clean even when the data comes from outside your team.

03

Setup diagnostics that never fail silently

Run a one-click connectivity test against your provider, see quota/status, and run a sample query — so a bad key or missing setup is caught in Settings, not by a confused user.

04

Choice of provider, keys stay server-side

Use Google Places or Mapbox with your own flat-fee API key. The key is read server-side only and is never sent to the browser.

05

Graceful degradation, always completable

A distinct message for "service unavailable" versus "no match found" means the form is never blocked — manual entry always works.

06

Per-country address validation

A configurable format library checks postal-code patterns per country, flags an invalid ZIP before save, and can restrict which countries offer suggestions.

07

Match confidence, right on the record

Every accepted suggestion carries a 0-100% confidence score, saved on the partner so anyone reviewing the record can judge how reliable it is.

08

One-click duplicate detection

The Check Duplicates button surfaces likely matches sharing a postal code, street, and country, or an identical email, before a duplicate record is created.

09

Full address-change audit trail

Every edit — manual, autofill, import, or creation — is logged with the before/after address, who made it, and which provider or confidence score was involved.

Workflow

How it works

1

Configure

Open Settings, choose Google Places or Mapbox, and add your own API key.

2

Verify setup

Run the built-in diagnostics — connectivity test, quota, and a sample query — before anyone types a single address.

3

Type & select

Start typing in Contacts or the Customer Portal, pick a suggestion, and the rest of the address fills in with a confidence score attached.

4

Review & trust the data

Validation status, duplicate checks, and full change history keep the database clean as addresses are edited.

Yes. Address Autofill uses your own account with Google Places or Mapbox so lookup volume never triggers a per-use charge from us; enter the key once in Settings and the app handles the rest.
