The problem
Anyone with basic write access can archive a product or contact, hiding it from quotations, orders, invoices and reports in one click. Odoo's native permissions cannot isolate the archive action from ordinary edits, so locking it down usually means over-restricting legitimate work — and when something is archived by accident, there is no record of who did it or why.
The solution
Restrict to Archive Product and Partner gates the archive action by user group, exempts named stewards, and logs every attempt — allowed or blocked — with actor, record, timestamp and reason.
