The problem
Standard Odoo stamps the Sales Order date with the moment of confirmation and locks the field from editing once a quotation is confirmed. Businesses that log phone orders, paper orders, or historical backlogs after the fact end up with a date that reflects data entry, not the real sale — corrupting reports, commissions, and period allocation.
The solution
This module makes the Order Date editable at every stage, including after confirmation, and guarantees the value you enter — backdated or forward-dated — survives confirmation unchanged. The quotation Expiration recalculates automatically from that same order date, so validity windows stay consistent even on corrected orders.

Editable at every stage
The Order Date field is visible and editable in draft, sent, and confirmed sales orders alike — not just before confirmation like most competing apps.
Backdate with confidence
Confirm an order dated earlier than today without errors or workarounds, so historical, migrated, and catch-up orders confirm cleanly.
Forward-date for scheduling
Set an order date in the future when you need to schedule or control validity ahead of time, covering both historical and forward-looking use cases.

The quotation Expiration recalculates from the order date instead of today, so a corrected or backdated order always carries a consistent validity window.

Need a different expiration than the calculated one? Set it directly — your manual value is preserved and is not overwritten by unrelated edits.
Focused, single-purpose design
This app does one thing well: order date control. No bundled accounting columns or unrelated metrics to configure or explain.
No new permissions required
Any user who can already edit the order can edit its date. The existing Lock and Cancelled states remain the only guardrails — nothing new to configure.
How it works
Open the order
Open any quotation or sales order, in any state that is not locked or cancelled.
Set the true date
Edit the Order Date field to the date the sale actually happened — backdated, forward-dated, or corrected.
Confirm as usual
Confirm the order the normal way. Your entered date is kept exactly as-is, never reset to the confirmation time.
Expiration adjusts automatically
The quotation Expiration recalculates from the new order date, or override it manually if you need a different validity window.
