The problem
Service businesses lose revenue two ways: unfilled slots that a waitlist could have caught, and double-bookings that erode customer trust. Phone, email, and spreadsheet scheduling cannot enforce capacity in real time, so the front desk spends its day reconciling a schedule instead of serving customers — and staff overload is discovered only after it has already happened.
The solution
A resource-generic booking manager built on Odoo's own scheduling stack. Every booking is checked against live capacity before it is confirmed, a workload kanban shows who and what is overloaded at a glance, and cancellations automatically offer the freed slot to the next customer on the waitlist — all without leaving Odoo.

Every confirmed booking is checked against the resource's live schedule and capacity ceiling, so a slot, staff member, or piece of equipment can never be double-booked.
Visual capacity & workload kanban
A dedicated resource kanban shows a live capacity progressbar and load badge per staff member, room, or equipment — overloaded resources stand out before they become a customer-facing failure.
Drag-and-drop reschedule
The real-time availability calendar lets staff drag a booking to a new time or resource in one gesture; conflict checks re-run instantly on drop.
Waitlist with auto-fill
When a service allows it, a fully-booked slot captures demand on a waitlist instead of turning customers away, then automatically offers the freed slot to the next person in line on cancellation.
Automatic resource assignment
Each booking is matched to an available, in-capacity staff member, room, or piece of equipment automatically, removing manual assignment guesswork.
Configurable services & overbooking rules
Define service plans with their own duration, price, and waitlist behaviour, and set a per-resource capacity ceiling with an explicit manager override for planned overbooking.
Automatic confirmation & reminders
Bookings confirm without staff intervention, and a configurable cron sends pre-appointment email reminders a set number of hours ahead to cut no-shows.
Website self-service booking
Customers browse published services and submit a booking straight from the website, with an instant confirmation page — no phone call or email needed.
Portal & printable booking slip
Customers track every booking from their own portal "My Bookings" page, and staff can print a booking slip report for front-desk or on-site use.
How it works
Customer picks a service
A customer browses published services on the website or a staff member opens the backend calendar, and selects a date and time.
Resource is assigned & checked
The module assigns an available, in-capacity resource and validates the slot against every existing booking before it can be confirmed.
Booking confirms — or waitlists
If capacity is free the booking confirms automatically and a confirmation email is sent; if the slot is full it joins the waitlist instead of being lost.
Manager tracks & rebalances
The manager watches the workload kanban, drags bookings to rebalance load, and the waitlist auto-fills the moment a slot is freed.
