The problem
Long-term lease and fleet hire run on a fixed monthly rate, a bundled mileage allowance and a per-kilometre excess charge that must be reconciled continuously — but most operators track it in spreadsheets bolted onto accounting. Overage is discovered only at contract end, where it becomes a dispute the operator usually loses or discounts away. Odoo's native Fleet module cannot help: it models vehicles as internal cost records with no paying customer, billable allowance or proration.
The solution
A customer-facing, billable lease contract that sits alongside Fleet — not inside it. Monthly rent is prorated to the day, odometer readings log automatically against the allowance, and overrun is projected continuously so overage is a managed mid-contract conversation instead of an end-of-term surprise. Reprice, replace a vehicle, or close out an early return — all from the same record, with no third-party rental dependency required.

Daily proration billing
Monthly rent is prorated to the exact day for vehicles delivered or returned mid-month, eliminating manual pro-rata math and partial-month disputes.
Mileage allowance & excess charges
Fleet odometer readings log against the allowance from day one, with excess kilometres automatically charged at anniversary or early return.
Mid-contract repricing wizard
