The problem
Perishable and lot-tracked stock quietly turns into pure loss: sellable inventory gets scrapped instead of marked down in time, and expired packs that are contractually returnable to a vendor sit past the claim deadline because nobody is tracking the window. Spreadsheet-based expiry tracking cannot keep up once a retailer or pharmacy manages thousands of lots across multiple locations.
The solution
A nightly engine computes each lot's markdown automatically from tiered, category-or-product rules, surfaces it on a near-expiry stock list with value-at-risk, and lets a clerk route the remainder through a single sell, return-to-vendor, or scrap ticket. Supervisor approval, auto-generated supplier claims, and compensation-deadline tracking close the loop from markdown to recovered cash.
