Stop chasing overdue invoices by hand

Automated, plain-language payment reminders for Odoo Accounting — courtesy nudges before the due date, escalating notices after it, for both customer invoices and vendor bills.

The problem

Once an invoice goes out, someone has to remember its due date, watch for non-payment, and manually chase the customer — first politely, then firmly. That falls on an owner, a bookkeeper, or an AR clerk juggling dozens or hundreds of open invoices. Manual follow-up is inconsistent, easy to forget, and scales badly, quietly extending days-sales-outstanding and tying up working capital.

The solution

Invoice Due Date Reminder runs a daily scheduler that sends the right email at the right time — a courtesy nudge before the due date, then escalating reminders after it — for both customer invoices and vendor bills. Rules are configured in plain language (days before or after, never a signed number), every send is logged with its delivery status, and the whole automation can be paused with one switch.

Capabilities

Everything a dunning workflow needs

Every capability below is implemented in the module.

01

Plain-language timing

Days Before or Days After the due date — no signed numbers, ever. Configure a rule in seconds without guessing what a negative offset means.

02

Multiple escalation levels

Ship three ready-to-use rules out of the box: a courtesy nudge before the due date, a first reminder, and a final notice, each with its own template.

03

Receivables and payables

Reminders for customer invoices and vendor bills, side by side, so both sides of your cash flow are covered from one configuration screen.

04

One-switch daily scheduler

A background job sends due reminders every day; a single Autosend toggle in Settings pauses or resumes the whole automation.

05

Templates with the invoice attached

Each rule picks its own email template, and the invoice or bill PDF is attached automatically so the recipient can act without asking for a copy.

06

Full delivery log

Every reminder sent is recorded with its date, channel and outcome, giving finance a complete history per invoice and per customer.

07

Delivery status at a glance

A color-coded badge marks every reminder Sent, Failed or Pending, and failed sends automatically retry up to a configurable limit.

08

Targeting and opt-outs

Filter rules by partner tag or minimum amount due, and exclude any single invoice or an entire contact from automated reminders.

09

One-click manual send

A Send Reminder button and wizard on every invoice let you fire a specific rule immediately, on top of the automatic schedule.

Workflow

How it works

1

Configure a rule

Pick Days Before or Days After the due date, the document type, and a mail template. Three defaults are ready on install.

2

Automation runs daily

The scheduler checks open invoices and bills every day and queues the reminders that match each rule's timing and targeting.

3

Emails send with tracking

Templates render with the invoice attached, send, and log a Sent, Failed or Pending status — failures retry automatically.

4

Review or send manually

Check the Reminder Log for full history, or use the invoice's Send Reminder button to trigger a rule on demand.
