Set it once, carry it from quote to invoice
Store a default Incoterm and named place for every customer and vendor, auto-fill it on sales and purchase orders, and carry it through to the invoice — with a visible source badge and built-in divergence and port-validation warnings.
The problem
Every repeat order means re-selecting the same Incoterm and re-typing the same named place, from quote to invoice. Core Odoo stores one field per document with no memory, so the agreed term can silently drift between the sales order, the delivery and the final invoice — and nobody gets a warning when it does.
The solution
Incoterms Management stores a structured default per partner — code and named place together — and resolves it through a clear fallback chain (partner, shipping method, company default) on both sales and purchase orders. A visible source badge shows where every value came from, soft warnings catch divergence or an invalid place, and the term carries straight through to the customer invoice or vendor bill.
Everything the order-to-invoice chain needs
Every capability below is implemented in the module.
Partner default terms
Store a default Incoterm and named place on every customer and vendor — and per contact — so repeat orders never need manual re-entry.
Enriched Incoterms 2020 metadata
All 11 standard codes ship with transport mode, port requirement, freight/insurance/risk responsibility and a formal description, right on the Incoterm record.
Named-place master with port flag
A structured port/location list with a port flag standardizes place entry instead of free text, and backs automatic validation against the chosen Incoterm.
Fallback chain with source tracking
Sales and purchase orders resolve the Incoterm from partner, shipping method or company default — and show exactly which source supplied it, with an auto-filled vs. manual flag.
Divergence and port-validation warnings
A soft on-form warning flags when an order's Incoterm differs from the partner's agreed default, or when the named place is inconsistent with the Incoterm.
Save as default from the order
Save the Incoterm and place on a sales or purchase order straight back to the customer or vendor record in one click, without leaving the order.
Bulk assignment wizard
Assign or correct the default Incoterm and place across many partners at once, launched directly from the partner list.
End-to-end invoice propagation
The Incoterm and named place carry through automatically to the customer invoice and vendor bill, so the paperwork always matches what was agreed.
Data-quality and usage reporting
Dedicated lists surface sales and purchase orders missing an Incoterm or place, plus pivot and graph views of Incoterm usage, so trade teams can enforce completeness.
How it works
Set partner defaults
Store a default Incoterm and named place on each customer and vendor, or per contact, once.
Create an order
Open a sales or purchase order and watch the Incoterm, place and source badge fill in automatically.
Catch issues before confirming
A soft warning flags any divergence from the partner default or an invalid place before the order is confirmed.
Carry it to the invoice
Confirm the order and the same Incoterm and place flow straight through to the customer invoice or vendor bill.
