Turn delivered equipment into signed, warranted acceptance
Commission every delivered unit against a tested protocol, block sign-off on out-of-spec readings and open punch items, and pin the warranty clock to the moment the customer actually signs.
The problem
Capital equipment sellers ship the product, but revenue and the warranty clock wait on a signed acceptance. Until then the unit sits on the customer's floor as delivered-but-unaccepted value, and nobody has an auditable record of what blocked commissioning, which readings failed, or when the warranty obligation actually began. Spreadsheets, paper punch lists and emailed PDFs do not scale, and generic field-service apps track visits without a concept of a test protocol, a blocking punch list, or a certificate that gates both payment and warranty.
The solution
One connected workflow carries every unit from site-readiness through a protocol-driven test, a blocking/non-blocking punch list, a signed handover certificate and on into warranty visits. Out-of-spec readings and open blocking items visibly disable sign-off until they are resolved, the warranty start date is pinned to the signature, and finance gets a dedicated view of delivered-but-unaccepted value — so the gap between "delivered" and "accepted" finally has a system of record.
Everything commissioning needs, in one app
Every capability below is implemented in the module.
Site-readiness checklists
Configurable checklists split each prerequisite between customer and vendor responsibility, so nobody dispatches an engineer to a site that is not prepared.
Protocol templates with pass/fail limits
Load the commissioning protocol for an equipment type and compare every test reading against its own min/max specification, so results are objective across engineers.
Hard block on out-of-spec sign-off
A reading outside its defined limits cannot be signed off, regardless of notes — the sign-off action is visibly disabled with a plain-language reason.
Blocking vs. non-blocking punch list
Blocking defects must close before handover; non-blocking items can be accepted under an agreed clearance date, so minor snags never hold up acceptance.
Signed certificate, warranty pinned to signature
A guided wizard captures the customer signature on the handover certificate, and the warranty start date is set from that signature, not the earlier delivery date.
Delivered-but-unaccepted finance view
A dedicated list surfaces the monetary value of every unit that has been delivered but not yet accepted, giving finance cash-flow visibility without hunting.
Warranty visits, abortive pricing & expenses
Warranty visits auto-schedule from product settings, wasted trips are priced at the equipment type's abortive rate, and every visit carries its own categorised expense claims.
Spare-parts quotations from the BOM
Turn a service visit into a quote in one click: the spare-parts wizard pulls components straight from the equipment's bill of materials.
FIR with auto-revert on rework
A failed commissioning automatically raises a First Information Report, and reopening it for rework reverts the order to draft so it gets re-tested, not silently passed.
How it works
Receive & auto-create
Validate a delivery order and a commissioning order auto-generates with the equipment's serial number, site, and its checklist and protocol templates loaded.
Check readiness & test
Tick off the site-readiness checklist, then run the test protocol — any out-of-spec reading blocks sign-off automatically.
Clear punch & hand over
Resolve blocking punch items (or set a clearance date for non-blocking ones), then capture the customer's signature on the handover certificate.
Track warranty & visits
The warranty clock starts from the signature date; scheduled visits, abortive-trip pricing, expense claims and spare quotations carry the relationship forward.

On acceptance. The warranty start date is pinned to the handover certificate signature, not the delivery date, so the clock only starts once the customer has actually accepted the equipment.
