The problem
Every edit to a quotation overwrites what came before it. When a customer disputes a price, or a manager asks to reconstruct a negotiation, all that is left is scattered chatter and memory — no reliable record of what was offered, when, or why.

Capture the full state of a quotation or sales order — every line, quantity, price, discount, and total — as an immutable version straight from the order form.
Stable Version Reference
Each version keeps the order's original reference and adds a clear version marker (S00044 - v3), so the document identity stays recognizable across every round.
Required Change Reason
Every version requires a structured reason before it can be created, so the negotiation narrative is captured next to the snapshot instead of buried in chatter.
Line-Level Compare

Negotiate
Edit the quotation as usual — add lines, adjust prices, change quantities.
Create Version
Click Create Version, enter the change reason, and the current state is snapshotted.
Compare
Open Compare Versions to see the line-level differences between any two rounds.
Restore if Needed
Restore any prior version back to the live order in one click.
