Quote, order, and invoice in packs

Quote, order, receive, and invoice in bags, drums, or any pack unit. One install covers Sales, Purchase, Inventory, and Invoicing — zero manual unit conversions.

The problem

You trade in 25 kg bags and 50 kg drums, but Odoo records every order in kilograms. Staff manually convert pack counts to base quantities on every order, receipt, and invoice — a slow, error-prone step that causes supplier disputes and mis-shipments.

The solution

Set a pack size on each product once. An editable Pack Qty column then appears across all four workflows. Enter bags and Odoo computes kilograms automatically — in both directions, on every document.

Capabilities

Everything in one install

Every capability below ships in the module — no add-ons, no hidden dependencies.

01

Per-Product Pack Size

Define base units per bag or drum on each product form. One value drives all calculations across every workflow automatically.

02

Auto-Calculation Both Ways

Enter a pack count and the base quantity updates. Change the base quantity and the pack count recomputes. No manual arithmetic required.

03

Pack Qty on Sale Orders

Sales teams quote in bags on quotations and sale orders. The column is optional and user-toggleable so screens stay clean for products without a pack size.

04

Pack Qty on Purchase Orders

Buyers communicate with vendors in bags and drums. The pack count column appears on RFQs and purchase orders alongside the standard UoM quantity.

05

Pack Demand on Receipts & Deliveries

Pack Demand and Pack Done columns appear on receipts, delivery orders, and internal transfers. Warehouse staff count bags, not kilograms.

06

Pack Qty on Invoices & Bills

Customer invoices, vendor bills, credit notes, and debit notes all include the pack quantity column — no separate document cross-referencing needed.

07

Single Settings Page

One master toggle enables the feature globally. Per-workflow overrides let you show pack columns only on Sales, Purchase, Inventory, or Invoicing independently.

08

Native Optional Columns

Uses Odoo’s built-in optional-column system. Each user can show or hide the Pack Qty column per view without any administrator action.

09

No Hidden Dependencies

Depends only on standard Odoo apps: Sales, Purchase, Inventory, and Accounting. Compatible with Odoo.sh and on-premise deployments.

Workflow

How it works

1

Enable in Settings

Turn on the master toggle and choose which workflows should show the pack column.

2

Set Pack Size

Open any product and enter its pack size — for example, 25 for a 25 kg bag.

3

Enter Pack Count

Type the bag count on any order line. The base quantity fills in automatically.

4

Confirm & Track

Pack counts are visible all the way through — order, delivery, and invoice.
